Star gazing upon Perseid
We gathered our blankets and pillows and headed toward the backyard at midnight to witness the magic of the Perseid meteor shower.
We turned out all the lights and laid with eyes fixed on the clear starry sky enjoying the music of the night creatures we share our backyard with. For 1-1/2hrs. we laughed and talked and clapped when we witnessed the magic of each shooting star. We witnessed over 20 of them. A small amount in comparison but just enough to bring joy and fascination to our family.
Creating memories with my family is important to me and having the almost 11year old share in the joy with his older siblings is heartwarming. As parents, we must inspire and encourage our kids to explore their world. Technology can cause this generation to forget the joy of playing and exploring outdoors. We've always played and enjoyed family time outdoors. So tonight was no exception and I received no objections from the older kids. They were equally excited to lay outside and stargaze.
Make time to create memories with your children. They're never too old to enjoy family time. Be daring, be adventurous, be spontaneous and embrace your journey.
