Be thankful

There are so many tragedies that abound. Take some time out your day to reflect and meditate. It is very easy to become consumed in your day to day life.  It is very easy to become consumed by your possessions. The life of a mom is extraordinarily busy. A mother’s schedule is hectic, chores to accomplish, activities to attend, deadlines to meet, friends to entertain and many family commitments. Take a time-out and express gratitude.

“If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, ‘thank you,’ that would suffice.” – Meister Eckhart

Create a journal of daily gratitude. Take time to write down who and what you’re grateful for. Practice saying ‘thank you’ to friends, family and strangers (who may do random acts of kindness like holding the door open as you approach). Be thankful for tough times and difficult situations. Times like these foster growth and strength. Having a tough time at work? Be thankful for work. In general, being thankful makes you a happier person. It  enables you to focus on what is really important in your life like health, family, love, etc. In order to live a life of balance you must embody a life of gratitude. Gratitude brings grace and clarity into your life. As you document your blessings you become more aware of your abundance. Everything you have seems sufficient. Your life becomes fulfilling. You will no longer have the need to define yourself by what you do or the things you own.

As you take time today to reflect on your many blessings, call a friend and thank them for being in your life. I am grateful that you took the time to read this blog.  I especially thank you for your support and encouragement.
